I'm looking to purchase SynthEyes to eliminate the final need I have for AE- 3D camera tracking.
Looking at the stuff in mObject, it's clear it works pretty well. Any other current users have any personal experience to add? How does it stack up to the Foundry's Camera Tracker for AE?
There are 2 versions available- a Intro version ($299) and a Pro version ($499). For the exclusive purpose of exporting to Motion5, is there any need for the Pro version, or will the Intro version suffice?
Thanks.

I haven't used it for years, but there is a demo available.
Why not try?

If you intend to go down the Syntheyes route, FXPHD run an in depth introductory course.
As well as the 3D camera tracker in AE, Hitfilm Ultimate includes a version of Mocha with the 3D Camera Solver, making good use of Hitfilm's 3D compositing environment. Trial version available here: bit.ly/1fyvS4J
The camera tracking tools in Blender are constantly improving, but as always you have to deal with its quirky UI.
I highly recommend Tim Dobbert's book on the subject: amzn.to/1fKVH3S

A better question is whether any of the limitations of the intro version matter to you. See
www.ssontech.com/introlim.htm
for a list of the Intro version limitations.

So did anyone tried it?
Now with the new FCP 10.2 3D text, the only missing link is the 3D tracking.
Looking for a way or good camera solve so track the new 3D text in my scene

I'm curious as well. I've used Syntheyes for a while now, but have never used it with Motion. I currently don't own a license, so I can't try it.

"CAN later be upgraded to Pro, though the total cost will be somewhat higher than purchasing Pro in the first place."
Really? Who does this in today's world? That's very odd. That's be like Apple charging $350 to upgrade from GarageBand to FCPX, but FCPX only being $299. Makes no sense.

I haven't looked at their pricing. I had Syntheyes 2009 and I think I paid $300 for the pro version. Although, I think they only had one version. The only reason I'd want this is for 3D tracking. I know Mocha now offers 3D tracking, but I think it'd be hard to beat Syntheyes in terms of quality of tracking.
I did the same thing with Zbrush. I bought that in 2009 for like $200 and then sold it 4 years later for $650.
Way off topic...sorry.
