Whenever I go to open a specific library, fcpx always opens whatever I was working on previously, sometimes more. I can't find a setting that allows me to keep other libraries from opening. Is there a way to avoid this?
[edit] Just figured it out - make sure you close your libraries before quitting fcpx. Then it will only open whatever you library you choose to open. Is this a good rule of thumb for other reasons as well? I've been just closing the window to quit.

Am I correct in assuming that you're trying to open the libraries from the Finder.
If you double click a library on the Finder level,10.1 will open this Library in addition to whatever libraries were open in the last FCPX session.
To avoid this, close your libraries at the end of your sessions- right before you quit the application.
You can also force FCPX to launch with no Libraries by holding the Shift key when launching. (It will create a new default Library on your boot disk to start with)
Cheers

Yeah - it's easier for me to now just close my libraries before quitting the program. Feels more order somehow.

Shift key never works for me.
What I think you're looking for are these actions:
1- You can click and hold on the FCPX icon in the Dock, specify which individual Library to open.
2- You can launch FCPX while holding the Option key, until you get to a window that allows you to chose a specific Library to open.
These are not FCPX specific actions, but OS X actions for any app that takes advantage of it.

Yeah - I was holding down the option key but it still opened the other libraries if I didn't close them first.

Hold option, launch FCPX, keep holding it until you see the window. If you let up before then, it is a normal launch. I use this with FCPX and a bunch of other apps daily.
