Can somebody tell me where the Keyer has gone in FCPX? After I updated for 10.1 version, I am not able to find it in Effects and I wonder where it is located now when you need to work with green screens.

Thanks in advance!

Carlos

Select all video effects in the effects browser and use the search box at the bottom. If other effects are missing you might need to reinstall the application.

I'm looking at 10.1.1 now, and it is there. Try this, go to the Final Cut Pro menu, select "download additional content". See if it updates your effects.

It does not solve the missing effect :(
I guess I will need to cll apple to solve this, specially now that I know that you are able to see the keyer effect while I am not.

You could try repairing permissions and trashing preferences. If you've not performed these tasks before, here's a brief overview...

To repair permissions:
Open Disk Utility from the Applications => Utilities folder
Select your Macintosh HD boot drive
Select the First Aid tab and click Repair Disk Permissions

While you're in Disk Utility, check the data structure of your disk is okay by running Verify Disk on the Macintosh HD. If this produces a warning message, I can go through how to solve it.

To trash preferences:
Download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion: www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/download.html
Install it in your Applications or Utilities folder
Open Preference Manager and tick only Final Cut Pro X
Click Trash and then empty the Trash

Do a restart for good measure.

I'd get Digital Rebellion's "FCS Remover", use it to remove FCPX totally from your system. This does more than just moving the application itself in to the trash. Then launch the App Store, Purchases section, Install FCPX again. You'll have to do the Install Additional Content, also.
