Is there a way to Export In Place (like Logic Studio's Bounce In Place)?

Hello All,
I am curious if there is an easy way to do the equivalent of what's known as a "Bounce In Place" in logic? Say I am in Project A's timeline inside Event A and therein I have a compound clip which is comprised of media from Events B,C, and D - Is there a way for me to select the compound clip and do the equivalent of these steps:
1. Export this clip to a final form just as if this compound clip was the only thing in the whole timeline
2. Import this newly created output file into Event A.
3. Replace the original compound clip in the timeline with this new clip
This is the equivalent of "Bounce In Place" in Logic Studio for audio files, and would greatly enable my efforts to break unwanted inter-event media usage and thus allow me to move every event to its own library more easily.
Basically the videos I am making are all part of a series that uses a 30 second intro, that shows clips of various past episodes. This necessitates that the event for each video has to pull in the compound clips and media (whether sym linked or actual), related to these little snippets of other events. It would be ideal if, after I'm done with a project, I could "Export in Place" the intro clip and then delete all the extraneous references in Event A.
Hope that all made sense; thanks!

Would be great, but alas FCPX does not have said ability...to my knowledge. The only way i can think to do this is to copy a compound clip to a new event and "share" said event as a master file ...import into original event.

Technically you can do this. Open the compound. Export it. Reimport the file. Replace the compound in the project. This is generally avoided in video as there is progressive deterioration in the video each time it's re-encoded.

And mixing down audio tracks is a whole different animal than mixing down video tracks. Much more data, more sensitive data, generational loss is greater, etc.
Basically, a Compound Clip is the video version of Bounce In Place.

Thanks for the reply guys.
Yes, I know I can go through those steps, was just curious if there was "shortcut".
Ben; I think I saw you post in another thread that if I were to export at high quality it would take like 10 generations before any appreciable degradation. I only really need to do this once (to basically sever the inter-event media ties); would that be okay? If so what settings should I use when going to export the region in question (as I believe there is a way to just export a region of the timeline).
Thanks!

Exporting as ProRes 422 and reimporting that flattened QT file? Not a thing wrong with that. No quality lost.
