deleted event - how to restore was created by parkerhqj
I just imported some xml files into a library and in the process of deleting all the extraneous phantom events that accompany those files managed to deleted an event that had real media and projects in it. By the time I realized it and started undoing, the program crashed. So when I rebooted, it was still very gone. I reopened an autosaved version of the library from yesterday, and that came up with the missing event there but the files were now missing. I know the files are there because I looked into the library and there they are. I now opened the backed up library from another drive and that has the original event with no missing files. How should I restore the missing event? When I go to copy the event to the library, the message says the original files will be copied over. But they're already there. My impulse is to reconnect the files, but I can't navigate there. Who do I fix this mess? thx in advance - client breathing down neck!

So you have an Event that has lost the connections to its managed media inside the Library. That's quite unusual, so Relinking will not be an option.
You could try this: Open the Library (Show package contents) and open the Original Media folder that holds the unlinked media files for your Event. Drag the contents of the Original Media folder onto your problematic Event in FCPX. Does that work? (You can try with one file to see if it works or not).
