After the 10.1 update and continuing after the 10.1.1 update my timeline locks up sometimes for a good 10 secs then it kicks back in and I'm able to use it again. This is happening more frequent than I would like. I know the 10.1.1 update says it speeds up the timeline but I've got the opposite. Running Mavericks and all media and files on a GRaid TB drive and MBPr

Same here. I'm on a Late-2012 iMac 3.4Ghz, 32GB RAM, 2GB VRAM, Pegasus R6 12TB Thunderbolt RAID5, FCPX 10.1.1 and I'm still getting spinning beach balls on occasion. Also, I was cleaning up my keywords with folders and it crashed. It's a PITA.

I did all the troubleshooting procedures from the past (prefs/disk util/clearing renders/etc) and the one thing that helped is a procedure from several versions ago with copying and pasting the old clips from the project into a new timeline created in 10.1.1. Three Pre-10.1.1 projects that was updated to 10.1.1 has been wonky and this has improved it but still get the occasional lagging. It is what it is. My projects files are >1.5TB so that could be another reason but my read/write speeds are ~500 MB/s.

As always, I've been consistently sending feedback to Apple.

Hi fellows,

If possible, i'll advice you to make a clean installation (completely format hard drive) of Mavericks and FCP X. That might solve your problems.

I have a late 27" iMac with, 16GB of RAM, 512MB of VRAM running FCP X 10.1.1 with more than 3000 effects on Mavericks with all my libraries, events and projects on a LaCie Thunderbolt 2d and i don't have any of your issues.

A clean installation and you'll tell me about it.

This seems to happen more that I am on 10.1.1, but it appears for me only when I go to another application. like look at mail or something and go back to FCXP. The delay seems longer than before, but it isn't happening to me if I stay in FCXP. Have found in the past, to avoid disruptions is to quit mail if time is pressing.
