Anybody aware of a application that I can add metadata to wav files that can be seen in Final Cut Pro X?

Thanks

As opposed to adding it inside of FCPX? Not that I'm aware of. I'm curious what the need is, as this sounds like an interesting situation.

Hi, I've once used Sound Devices Wave Agent to combine mono files into polyphonics (multichannels) files.

You can add some metadata like Tape, Frame Rate, Scene, Take and Notes, all of which are visible in FCPX.
(Not sure about "Notes").

Can be useful if the Sound guy wants to log himself, for example, or to log on any Mac-PC.

Just checked, here's what you can do in Wave Agent :

I've filled the columns : Notes - Scene - Take - Tape - Frame Rate - Circled - Wild

And here's what you get in FCPX:

Everything except "Circled" and "Wild".
But with a custom metadata view in the inspector, you can get the "Circled" metadata ("Bonne" in French), according to what was set in Wave Agent :
