Problem with 10.1.1 Not switching between libraries

Problem with 10.1.1 Not switching between libraries was created by Seanchas
I have a problem with 10.1 (and now 10.11), running on a circa 2009 mac pro with 16 gigs ram..
When I have a library open I can have other libraries loaded up but when I click on them it doesn't show their contents, it just stays on the initial library/event... this is very annoying as it effectively means I can't access more than one library without quitting and reloading FCPX...
Any ideas (if that makes sense)
I've tried a new user account (as it's very buggy on my original install) and I also have a new drive with a clean mavericks/fcpx install... all exhibit this behaviour.. i've deleted preferences to no avail...
It's also quite slow and clunky since 10.1

I am having the same issue, also FCP has crashed at least 20 times since the update, now I can't switch between libraries, and the project I was working on, is now missing. Completely gone. I lost a weeks worth of work. This update seems to have broken a lot of things. Anyone know of a way to recover the corrupt library?

FCPX 10.1 and 10.1.1 makes automatic library backups by default in the users/movies folder every 15 minutes when working on a project. If you have not disabled this in the apps preferences you should be able to load a backup either from the movies folder or any place you may have manually designated the backup to be stored. In FCPX choose file, open library and locate- point to the backup location and try that.
And to Seanchas - if your other events are not loading, are you getting a spinning beach ball during the load attempt? How long have you waited to see if clips appear in another event? Describe how you "updated projects and events" if this is related to older events under 10.0.9. If these are new libraries you created in 10.1 or above, the the "updated" comment won't be applicable.

No spinning beach balls.... just doesn't update to new icons when I click on a new event/library... all the events have been converted from 10.9 I think.....
