How do I copy an event to another computer?

How do I copy an event to another computer? was created by CMessineo
I teach editing with FCP X.
On my laptop I have a library called "editing class". The first event is my library is called "week 1".
For the first week I simply copied my library to all the computers the students use and that worked great.
Now it is week 2 and I have a new event in my library called "week 2". I need to get this event into the students library called editing class.
I thought I could just open the library packages and copy the new event (week 2) from my computer to the student computers. The event does copy, but when you open library on the student computer it does not show the new event.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

That's because the flexolibrary file has no information about it. It might be easier to have a separate library for each week.
P.S. I'm assuming you're using managed media and need to duplicate an event with the media, so XML export will not work for you.

That is correct, I am using managed media.
Is there someway, when the students open FCP, for them to connect to this new event in the library?

You're using a portable hard drive to connect to each student's computer, correct?
I'd recommend placing a copy of your whole master "Editing Master Class" to that drive with Events for each week of class right off the bat.
Then each week, on each students Mac, you'd then just drag and drop inside of FCP X to copy the portable drive's copy of the Event for that week, into the appropriate Library on the Mac.
I'd also suggest rethinking this. For example, create a "Editing Library" with an Event that holds all the media total. Of course, keyword them by week number for teaching. Then an Event for each week's Project timeilnes. All you'd need to do is copy over XML files of each Project. Or better yet, if they have all of the Media up front, then they can create new Events and Projects themselves, so you never have to copy anything over ever again. Just thinking out loud.
Is there a reason to not load up all the media at once?

This is a great suggestion, but unfortunately, I don't have all the media up front.
The media is being created by the filmmaking class on a week to week basis.
I am using a portable HD to coy the new event to each computer. Unfortunately, there is no network for the students to access the media from.
Is there someway to let the flexolibrary no about the new event? Can I just copy the flexolibrary too? Or what if I delete the flexolibrary, will it create a new one?

I'd make a Master Library that all media goes in to on the portable hard drive.
I'd make an Event for each week of media.
Then, from inside FCP, I'd just drag-and-drop that Event from the hard drive Master Library, into the Editing Library on each Mac, to copy it over.

A quick follow up.
I was curious so I did a test and deleting the flexolibrary causes it to be recreated when the FCP is loaded and when it recreates it recognizes the new event folder.
This might have some unintended consequences though, so I think I will still go with Ben's suggestion.
