I'm finding it difficult to find a good tutorial on keyframing text, either on youtube or in print ,does anyone know of one ? I'm trying to blur in or fade in a text and then blur out or fade out the same text.

Fade in and out can be done with either a cross dissolve transition, or by keyframing the Opacity.
To blur in and out, look in the "Blur" section of the Transition browser.
If you want to do both, either apply one of the Blur transitions AND keyframe the opacity, OR create one from scratch in Motion 5.
