I've seen programs that run through and delete your render files for space saving purposes, I know you could do this manually as well.

My question is will this effect my video should I need to come back to it down the road for changes or will I simply need to re-render? Thanks.

It's just your playback that will be affected without the render files. When I archive a project I get rid of the rendered and optimized/proxy media and leave only the original media.

Thanks for the quick reply! I didn't want to delete something without seeing if other have used the same practice. Thanks again.

Hi rBelfi, I've made such an app called X-wiper. And it will ONLY delete files that are not needed for archiving. All the files it deletes can be re-generated later. And if you use it in the during a project you can choose what to delete. Right now you can choose between:

Render, proxy, high quality media (transcoded), optical flow.
