Sharp screen capture for FCPX was created by mistermattsmith
What's the sharpest way to capture screenshots and software demos for editing in FCPX?
We currently use Camtasia but even on the highest settings, it's not as sharp as other examples I've seen, like the one below...

Any tips gratefully received.

ScreenFlow seems to be the standard used for Mac screen captures. I love it because it allows me to export my screen captures out to ProRes before I edit in FCP X. Screenflow does allow you to edit as well as a ton of other features. Check it out!

Learn to edit inside of ScreenFlow, also. It does things no NLW will do, resize and highlight mouse cursors or remove then totally. Resize the screen itself (zoom) with much better image quality retained. Super easy call-lots with a ton of controls and tricks. 99% of the editing I've done with the video tutorials I've produced was all inside ScreenFlow. An NLE is actually, IMHO, the worst place to edit a live software demo or training. ScreenFlow is absolutely the best on the market.

I concur with Ben. I have SnapZ Pro and Screenflow. Screenflow is absolutely top.

I agree that Screenflow is the best way to go.
As ben suggested- learn the software really well to get the best demos out of it.
If you're going to be doing involved demos, I recommend breaking it down into small chunks, and editing them together. That way, you can rehearse the chunks, and get it down with fewer mess-ups.
Cheers.

I'll just add that most all of the top video producers, Ripple, Jordan, macProVideo, we all use ScreenFlow, for very good reason.
