Internal SSD Speed Up Overall FCPX Interface?

I just got a newish iMac after they were updated a few months ago but I opted for the 1TB internal drive...

I keep hearing how great SSD's are and how much "faster" they are, but will an SSD really help with general things like clicking around the interface, adding filters and effects, moving clips around, etc or is it all about boot times and opening apps?

I guess what I'm asking is it truly as "life changing" as some people make them out to be?

Or is that more dependent on other things like having enough RAM and a fast GFX card? This is in relation to FCPX specifically...I've just never really had any experience with SSD drives for any real length of time since I've never owned a computer with one, so I'm wondering if its worth the investment or not?

I have a 2011 27" i7 iMac with 16GB of RAM 2GB GPU and I installed a 120GB OWC SSD which I only use for the OS, programs, I also have this exact same computer at work, only it doesn't have the SSD. It is a very noticeable difference and worth every penny.

It might not be pretty but why not add an SSD or SSD striped Raid with TB enclosure?
If you have TB then this might be an option.

As the new iMacs are screen are glued disassembling this might be tricky.

I just replaced my hard drive with a 960GB Crucial SSD on my 2009 Tower. Quite a nice difference indeed. Definitely worth the $$/hassle.
