Workaround for Davinci Resolve and XML 1.3?

Just tried to import an XML file from FCPX 10.1 into Resolve 10 and it said only XML 1.2 is supported. How can I get around this or do I just have to wait for an update to Resolve?

I havent tried the following.

If you have a simple project with a primary only the XML handling between 1.2 and 1.3 is pretty the same.
So you may try to duplicate the XML and change the version number at the top of the XML text file, save and try that one again.

Thanks for responding, still doesn't work though. Do I need a more simple project? That doesn't seem right. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Although not sure how to screw up an XML file...

If you have X-7 from Intelligent Assistance, you can export the XML to a FCP7 XML and the import that into Resolve. I've tried it on some simple timelines and it works pretty well. The only downside is that you have to buy X-7 which is $50, but its come in handy for many things including getting FCPX timelines into After Effects, for example.

Ah, yes. Thank you but I was just coming back to post that I got Text Wrangler to work on the XML file. Successfully changed 1.3 to 1.2 in Text Wrangler. It didn't work before because I used TextEdit and then tried Word to modify the file. Using Text Wrangler got it to work, thanks guys.

So you saved 50 bucks - you can send them to me

When FCP 4.1 came out using XML I wrote a long article for Larry Jordan's magazine why every editor should care a little about XML and gave an intro.
This also included to use text editors like TextWrangler especially when using non roman entries.

Okay, so part two of the question....

How do I get back to FCPX? After working in Resolve, I export an XML, open FCPX, click import XML. None of the changes are moved over. Tried the reverse by using TextWrangler to change the 1.2 to 1.3 in the XML file to see if it would - it didn't.
