Create Multicam Screen Array?

We are recording 4 angles from 4 GoPro's and are assembling the synced angles into one screen with each angle taking up 1/4th of the frame...

I've tried this two ways...make a multi cam, copy it 4 times and choose a different angle for each copy...but that leaves you with 16 angles essentially, plus graphics, and they are about 30minute clips...rendering out one video is taking more than overnight on a brand new maxed out iMac...NO GO, as they need to be delivered with quick turn around.

I tried using a multicam to sync the angles, then copying them and pasting then out of the multi cam and into a new timeline, then trimming and added the graphics and transitions and exporting...its faster but its its still incredibly slow...hours and hours to export a 30 minute or so clip...

Is there another way you suggest doing this that might be faster, or easier?

I'm using FCPEFFECTS.com screen splitter to split up the screen to show all 4 angles at once, in sync.

I would layer each in a normal Project timeline.
Make each 1/4 size, move to respective corners.
I'd use the waveforms to manually sync them, or visually sync them as needed.

You're not doing multicam editing (cutting between angles), as you want all to show at the same time.

Have you tried highlighting all four, then creating s regular Sync Clip? I believe that makes a compund clip, and you could re-size, reposition inside of that.

Thanks Ben!

Had the same "problem" with 3 GoPro cameras and your suggestion about creating a synced clip and doing the trimming and position inside the compound clip (open in timeline) worked great :-)
