Hi all trying to keyframe some motion in FCPX. I looked at Larry Jordans tutorial for fine tuning but he does it with Opacity.

Can we fine tune animation with the transform property. It does not have a disclosure option on the right of it. All I can really do is select the clip in the viewer, right click and either choose linear or smooth.

I'd like to be able to slow the movement down - is that possible too.

thanks!

Once you have created two keyframes, double click over the red path (in the viewer window). You'll get handles to perform fine tune movements and speed. Speed is shown with a dotted line over the red path, the closer the dots, the higher the speed.

Thank you! Though it doesn't seem very intuitive. You have to hit the transform button in the viewer to enable it. Then it seems to create another keyframe when its double clicked :) ugh lol!

right click on the keyframe (always in the viewer) and set the "smooth" parameter. You should get the handles to control both the speed and the movement, without creating an extra keyframe.

I forgot to mention that is better to manage these handles while pressing CMD key in order to avoid the "smart" alignment to yellow guidelines.
