Error Copying Event Between Libraries

Error Copying Event Between Libraries was created by nxtman123
I'm working on reorganizing my media and assets with the new content management system in FCPX 10.1 and I'm trying to copy some events from one library to another on the same drive. A few of the copies worked, but some fail with an alert window that says:
“camp3Big.jpg” couldn’t be linked to “Original Media”.
The image or video file named is always a random file in the event I'm trying to copy.
All the files in the events are consolidated and properly linked; there is no yellow alert triangle next to the event icon.

Updating over 200 speperatly event / projects over the holidays I saw this now and again. Not sure what causes it but it's an easy fix. Just drag the file it wants into to the event library. That should link it? Or you can manually link to where it is thought the relink footage dialogue box.
When a project is successfully update to 10.1 it's worth consolidating media to ensure it's all saved in the new event structure. I found some projects with lots of graphics saved those files to something like an 'final cut extra media' folder (not exact wording). But consolidating made sure everything was saved together in the new event bundle.

Unfortunately this does not help me because the files are already linked and consolidated. Doing it again has no effect. I tried it three different ways again this morning, with no luck.
Please help, I'm so confused as to why It doesn't work

So in your example camp3Big.jpg is is in the event but isn't linked?
If you right click and show content with the event bundle in the finder. Is the camp3Big.jp file in there?

It's all there. It's all linked, consolidated, and in the event in the library when I look at it in Final Cut and in Finder.

What happens if you copy the suspect files from from the bundle and re-add them to the event ? Are you getting the missing link symbols? Or does it happen only when you try and move projects?

I tried that earlier. It basically looks normal and all good until I try and copy or move the event.

I guess the obvious suggestion would be? Do you have to move the event? If it's a finished project can you just leave the library where it is?

Unfortunately, I Have to move a few of these events into one library in order for their compound clips to resolve a broken project in the target library.

Oh, what if you cut and past the content out of the compound clips and past them on the appropriate timeline?
