Best Denoiser for FCPX?

Best Denoiser for FCPX? was created by geoffb
I have a project that has a few dark shots that are terribly noisy (and I need to use them). I've tried Pixel Film's denoiser and it doesn't help much.
I know nothing will magically fix the video, but wondering what everyone thinks is the best denoiser out there. Thanks for your help!

Neat Video. Can be a bit buggy, but saved my bacon when we had an unidentified camera fault on a shoot a year or so ago. 15 hours of grainy footage - mainly rendered usable with Neat.

Sometimes I'll sound really smart & then turn around & ask a noob-ish question. Don't worry... that's perfectly normal haha!

I tried PixelFilm's Denoiser last week & wasn't too impressed either.

Neat Video is pretty amazing. It needs some flat areas in the video to pull noise samples from. If the footage is from your camera, you could even shoot some flat areas to create noise profiles from and use that in the video you are trying to edit. It can be a little wonky. I've had trouble with using it on a complicated Motion project. So if you have trouble just export out the noise filtered video and bring it back in if you have to.

Thanks for your suggestions!
I ended up buying Neat Video's denoiser. A little wonky--it wouldn't process video that had another effect applied--but very impressive results!

Also, you'll want to have NeatVideo Denoiser "above" all other effects. Rendering takes a long time if you have a long clip to Denoise but worth the end result.

(adding to that) You can drag to rearrange filter order in the inspector. Make sure Neat Video is at the top of the stack – ie. the first filter applied. Processing times are indeed lengthy, but it's an almost-magical tool. Works especially well for reducing pattern noise on cameras like the Nikon D5300/D7100.

thanks for that... I didn't know you could re-arrange filters! I used it to clean up 4 noisy nighttime shots in my video "A Run Around the Sun". I had to convince myself to pay the $100 for 4 seconds of video, but I needed those shots! And I know I'll use it again.
