Weird 10.1 behavior

This keeps happening: Working on a corporate video. Interview footage in primary storyline. B-roll clips connected on top. In some cases (not all) I get flash frames of the primary storyline, even when the connected clips abut each other. There is no space between them. When I nudge 1 frame, the 2nd clip move up a level, indicating there was indeed no space between the two connected clips.
Again, this is inconsistently happening but definitely a pain. My work around is to extend one of the connected clips by a frame or two so they in fact overlap. Then there is no flash frame from the underlying interview footage.
Anyone else get this?

I have never seen such an issue, but it is interesting.
Are you working with native (non-optimized) media?
If so: what is the format of the media and what are your Project settings?
Can you go to a spot on your timeline where you see such a "flash", then zoom in to maximum and make a screenshot of the spot where the B-roll clips abut each other above the primary?

I think I've experienced your problem. Is it just random black frames that flicker during playback? I've found that deleting render files and/or duplicating the project without render files sometimes fixes this. Also loading a different project and then going back to the project with the issues fixes it sometimes. This was my experience on 10.0.9.

Thanks for your responses. It's a 1080 29.9 timeline. Al footage is optimized (managed media) pro res, although the source is rewrapped c300 and 5D footage. Interestingly, one place where it is happening, the first brill clip is 1280x720 abutting a 1080 clip.
When I zoom in all the way, there is no gap or space between the clips.
I thought it might just be a playback issue, but when I exported, the flash was still there. Definitely a bug.
Had it happen in another project with different media too.
Like I said, the work around seems to be to just extend the clips a frame or two so they overlap. Only problem is I like to put my broll in a secondary timeline and can't do that when I need to use the work around.
And the weird thing is: it's not consistent throughout the timeline, but when it happens, it stays happening. I even replaced the broll shots with others and slid the interview footage. It keeps happening.
Strange.

I would definitely try Ronny's solution first and delete all render files in that project... Have you tried that?

Yes, strange indeed. I cannot seem to reproduce it here, nor have I heard from similar issues by other people yet.
As Julian and Pippin suggested I would try deleting all render files and see if this makes the problem go away. But if you already have tried replacing the clips with others I doubt this will be a render problem. Anyway if this doesn't help you should report this to Apple feedback.
