I tried to update an event/projects and I think it wouldn't recognize some of my projects because they were in the Hidden folder. I moved them to the regular folder but by then the process was over and the projects aren't appearing in the browser. Most of the files are now proxy (with the arrow in them). I'm not explaining it well because I don't really know what happened. I'd like to start over, but I don't want to start deleting things. Am I better off going to my back-up? I don't want to screw that up either. The files are actually in the Old FCPX Projects & Events, but they're not appearing in the browser. When I go to update it again it tells me there are no projects or events on that drive when there are. Is this making sense to anyone?

You have to use the Other and Locate buttons and manually tell FCP where that stuff is.

I did that and it told me there were no projects or events on that volume. What I did instead was copy my back up and start over with that. It worked fine. I'll just delete the botched updated library. Thanks.

It has to see them inside of an folder called Final Cut Events or Final Cut Projects.

The update had actually happened and they were in the Old FCPX folder. The projects just weren't being recognized when I opened up the new version. It doesn't matter at this point as I have worked around whatever I did by cloying my back-up and starting over. I wish I could be more helpful to anyone who doesn't want to make the same mistake, but I can't! thx
