Blackmagic Mini Monitor and fcpx 10.1 crashing

Hi,

I'm having some trouble with fcpx and outputting with a Blackmagic Mini Monitor.
To output both fields from a 1080 25i project I have to set the quality to "Better Quality". This causes the program to crash almost immediately. I can get playback on super simple timelines, but as soon as I hit something like an unrendered dissolve or color correction it crashes. Progressive timelines plays back much better. It also plays the same interlaced projects fine in "Better Quality" without the Mini Monitor attached.

I just got the Blackmagic so I haven't been able to test with previous versions.

Does anyone have any luck with Blackmagic devices and interlaced projects?

Thanks!

- Anders

Can you set the option in the viewer preferences to show both fields and still leave the quality at better performance? Won't this allow the monitor output you are looking for?

Bump. Didn't mean "still quality" meant "still leave the quality".

Thanks for the tip, but "Show both fields" doesn't seem to have any effect on the Blackmagic output. Seems like I have to have it set to "Better Quality" to get both fields output regardless of the "Show both fields" setting.

Actually, on further testing leaving "Show both fields" on and "Better Quality" helps with the crashing.
Even if the blackmagic output seems to not care about the "show both fields", fcpx doesn't crash with it on.

Performance is however still quite poor. Also the "Show both fields" setting is not saved for the next time I start fcpx which is quite annoying.
