How can I make a nice movie intro on FCPX without using motion?

Do you have any examples of what you'd like to achieve?
Is buying / learning Motion out of the question? It's usually a worth while thing to do.
After that, you're probably limited to finding / buying templates...
You could of course do lots of work in FCPX to try to manipulate things, but it's not really what FCPX is good at and Motion is better.

You need to be more specific but it would be a good investment of your time and money to get a copy of Motion and learn it - plenty of tutorials out there (and on here) and it's CHEAP. If you don't want to learn it you are limited to the generators that come with FCPX and/or importing graphic elements and animating scale/position/opacity with keyframes or going crazy with filters.

Even WITH Motion5, … without grey-matter v.02 aka an idea, you're stuck. :silly:
There were incredible 'intros' in the 40ies, 50ies, 60ies - without digital effects - which, I don't object the fact, make things more convenient ....
to throw a few keywords into the hat:
• stop motion
• macro photography
• stills prepped in any pic processor
• excellence in typography
• engage Morton Stevens and speed-up a few heli-shots on Hawaii ... :woohoo:
.... Picasso and a chewed pencil = great art
Me and C4D, FCPX, a RED and everybody from ILM = silly stupid ........ :pinch:
