Mavericks FCP X 10.0.9 two monitors not working

Hi everyone & and Happy New Year,
since upgrading to Mavericks (in preparation for 10.1) fcp x 10.0.9 hides my second monitor behind the first one. So I cannot work with two monitors (MBP + Cinema HD). Never an issue with Snow Leopard.
Any ideas?
Thanx in advance
Ulli

Hi Ulli,

It's not a compatibility problem between Mav and 10.0.9 as I've just tested it and it works fine across two monitors with either the events or the viewers on the second screen. You could try deselecting System Prefs>Mission Control>Displays have separate Spaces. This turns off the Mav feature that puts a Dock and menu bar on each display. It made no difference on my Mac Pro but it might be worth a try.

Otherwise trashing FCPX preferences may do it but, since I can't reproduce it, I don't know.

Ian.

Hi Ian,
thank you, that solved my issue. Now I can see that my menus are on one monitor only. I would not have known where to change that.

It's well hidden, that's for sure! Glad it fixed the issue. :)
