Hello,
- Is there a way to invert the vertical timeline dragging? Horizontal is ok.
- I have a timeline with 8 layers, the top layer is just a png for framing reference, when I copy and paste a clip it goes to the top of that layer, even with free space bellow, so I have to manually drag it down. Any suggestion to paste the clip in the free space instead of above everything?
Thanks,
Ulisses

Thanks Tom,
But I'm talking about dragging the timeline holding the LMB, if I drag left, timeline goes left, but if I drag UP, timeline goes DOWN.

Yes, because dragging "up", brings you to the "top" of the Timeline. There should be a scroll setting in System Preferences for your mouse to reverse this.

Natural scrolling changes the tracking pad behaviour and scroll, just tested it.
It doesn't change the H command behaviour:
- keyboard H + left mouse:
dragging to right, bring timeline to right
dragging to top, bring timeline down.
I want to get it working like FCP7 and other NLEs, if I drag mouse down, timeline goes down, not up.
Thanks,
Ulisses

What mouse are you using? What you describe is exactly what the natural scrolling toggle is supposed to address.

A logitech mouse, but natural scrolling only works for the mouse scrolling wheel or laptop trackpad, not for the standard mouse movements.

It should work with any scrolling mouse, or are you saying when you drag the scroll bar it is dragging backwards? That seems truly strange. I've not seen that. I'll try to test it later in the day.

Tom,
Im saying Im not using the scroll wheel, just using the H shortcut and dragging the timeline by moving the mouse left/right up/down.

You're right. The Hand tool uses natural scrolling and can't be switched off.

I find the Hand tool to be awkward, as scrolling with a trackpad or mouse wheel is much faster and easier. Not keyboard shortcuts required. Must personal taste.

Ben,
Mouse scrolling can be useful, and Shift+scroll moves timeline in horizontal.
Not so fast as HAND TOOL, but an option.
Thanks,
Ulisses
