can you please help? was created by aelroeiy
I just upgraded FCP to 10.1 on both my mac pro (early 2008 2.8Ghz quad- core 12 GB memory) and my Macbook pro. When I click on the "import media button on my Macbook pro it brings immediately all my folders and connected drive, however when I do that on my Mac Pro the circular wheel turns and turns for more than 30 minutes till I need to force terminate the program.
I corrected permissions on the drive, checked the integrity of the drive (512 GB SSD) run Onyx on it, Reset the NVRAM but nothing helps.
can you please tell how to solve this problem?
thank you so very much
Al

Before you attempt to import any media after upgrading to 10.1 you need to let the application convert your existing projects and events to the new Libraries that are required in the new version. If you didn't do this properly the application is probably attempting to do that to establish the events before it knows where to import media to. I would suggest you view and read some of the tutorials about the new upgrade and how to prepare for it (which you can find on the home page of this site) before you go any further.
