ADVICE SOUGHT- On Set Logging & Multicam

I'm gearing up for a big series in April, and I'm working on workflow problems.

First off, I was planning to use Movie-Slate to do on-set logging. There will be both studio and on-site component to the episodes. And at least 1 of the 2 will involve shooting Multicam, probably on RED.

In terms of logging, the scripts are going to be broken down, so I'll be looking to capture EPISODE, SCENE, SHOT, TAKE, and a RATING (either Favoirite or Reject) on set.

My main concern is this- because i'll be building multi-cams out of the individual cameras, do any of the slating solutions allow for that metadata to be brought forward onto the multi cam clip? The metadata (listed above) for each camera will the the same- so I'm just hoping to be able to bring that info forward to the multi-cam.

Anyone done this or similar? Thoughts?

Ben- I'm chatting with Philip about whether Lumberjack can meet our needs. Philip's demo at LACPUG really sold me on the flexibility of Lumberjack, but Philip is the first person to say it's designed for reality and documentary, and not scripted series. But he may just be selling himself short.

Definitely investigating all solutions.

The key points are-

1. Time of day timecode captures EP, SCN, SHOT, and TAKE info. Same or separate device captures Favourite/Rejected info from Director.

2. Metadata merged with A and B cameras.

4. After multi-cam's created, individual camera's metadata applied to multi cam- since those will be the files I'm cutting with.
