EQ settings working but not retaining view in 10.1 was created by dgwvideo
I just completed a project in which I applied custom EQ to 17 voice-over clips. I used the 31 band EQ to make adjustments and then copied those audio attributes to the other clips. I wanted to adjust some of the clips slightly different, but when I clicked in the inspector for the clip, and on the EQ icon it just showed a flat curve. The indication was correctly saying Flat (edited) and the audio was playing with the curve I copied but the curve was not displayed as I set it. Is anyone else seeing this? I tried it several times and can't seem to get any custom adjustment to show once I close out the EQ panel.

Hey Dan,
You are correct, I think you have discovered a bug.
From the test I did this doesn't only happen with copied attributes, but also on the original clip and using the 10 band EQ as well as the 31 band settings. Apply a custom EQ to any clip, close the EQ panel and open it again and the UI will not display the changes you have made
I would suggest sending immediate feedback to Apple about this. And while you're at it don't forget to mention this same issue applies to the color board UI that doesn't reflect the changes it makes to a clip after you have applied a Match Color

This is super annoying and I hope they fix soon. A good work around is to use the other equalizer effects in the audio section of the effects browser, such as flat or channel EQ. They hold their parameters and you can toggle them on and off.

I've noticed this as well. I've now done a feedback form.
For what it's worth, I'm reasonably sure that when you go back into the Graphic Equalizer, despite the flat settings, the edits *are* in effect, and if you do further changes the new tweaks also take effect. For example, if I raise the 2K slider to +2.0, close the window, open it again and see the slider back at 0, it actually still sounds like +2, and if I raise it to +2 again it now sounds like +4.
Strange.

Yes, you are correct. The curve is retained and further able to be modified.
Just the interface resets once closed. Without accuate studio monitors
it would be pretty difficult to know what ranges of frequencies have
been adjusted or are set incorrectly.

I edit mostly music videos, (Hobby user) and very often use the eq with music enhance. I then adjusts the levels for my preferences for two separate audio tracks. In FCP 10.09 I can close down the project and later open it and all setting are there as they should, then do some small adjustments again.
In FCP 10.1 when EQ window is closed down and I open it again it will boost up to Music Enhance settings set as standard. Which means I have to do all adjustments again.
This is very enjoying. Do anyone know if Apple is coming with any upgrade that will fix this problem?
Sincerely

I-mac with FCP 10.09
macbook pro with FCP 10.1

Of course the development team will fix this. When depends on how many of you are filling out the feedback page complaining of this issue.
Does anyone know anything about what is coming in updates? Not at all, no one. Anyone who does, can't and won't say. Anyone who does say they know, has no clue.

psk:
Earlier in this thread we discussed the fact that this bug is visual only. Are you not finding that the audio changes are indeed retained, even though they don't show in the sliders after you close and reopen the window? I haven't checked this recently, but are you certain you actually have to do all the adjustments again? Anyway, yes, it's a bug that should be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for all these infos, I was going crazy trying to understand what I was doing wrong.
After having done EQ effects which apparently add to each other (since I tried several times), I was looking for a way to reset all of them. The only way I found was to re-edit the clip from the navigator. Did anyone find an other way ?
Thanks

Yes, when using the music enhancement it boost up the levels to standard setting for this. Here is a demo video I have made with FCP 10.09 vs FCP 10.1.1 EQ adjustments
As earlier mentioned I still got my I-mac on version 10.09 and my son´s MacBookPro on 10.1.1 When not able to do small adjustments without starting more or less from scratch 10.1 is useless for me.
Sorry for bad my english
