Disappearing Audio components in Multicam

Because multi cam audio edits had been prone to audio blips, my practice has been to compound clip them as a last step before adding a compressor to dialogue.

Has anyone had any problems with audio components disappearing once you compound them? I'm finding mixing multi cam clips with different audio channel configuration are screwing things up.
