Problem exporting since upgrading to 10.1

I've been having problems since the 10.1 update, I have a bunch of projects that need to be encoded to DVD. I've tried sending to compressor, burning a DVD in fcpx, as well as using the DVD preset bundle in fcpx. They keep failing and in fcpx I get "com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1", compressor says host fail 3x.

I can however export a pro-res, bring that into compressor and export the M2v, and Ac3 files. I would prefer not to do that since It's an added step and will take up a lot of space on the drive.

The support forum on the apple website in both the fcpx and compressor boards haven't been any help yet.

What version of Compressor are you sending to? Did you try doing it entirely in FCP?

Running compressor 4.1, To be honest I haven't used compressor since the destination/bundling exporting from fcpx was added. Thought these projects would be a good way to learn the new interface.

I did export a couple of these in fcpx 10.0.9 & Mavericks with no problems a few days before the big update.

I've also repaired permissions and trashed pref files from both compressor and fcpx.

Quick update, I just tried again, 3 videos, 2 of them were about 2 hours long and the videos failed with the same error. The AC3 file encoded fine. 1 video was just under and hour in length and it encoded fine with no errors.

In FCPX 10.0.9 it was common to trash Qmaster pref files and folders when Compressor acted up. In the 10.1 version of FCPX I don't believe Qmaster is still utilized, but you can try to use Compressor repair from Digital Rebellion and see if that helps. Next, I would suggest you try to log in as another user account and try your DVD encode again. If that still doesn't work, drag Compressor to the trash and re-install it from the App Store.

Just an update since fcpx has been updated to 10.1.1. Exporting SD video to DVD still doesn't work. Before 10.1.1 came out last week, I did a bunch of HD projects ranging from DSLR video, other AVC codecs and even HDV, all exported fine.

To be more specific, I'm transferring a bunch of old VHS tapes to DVDs for a few clients. I have the VHS deck attached to a old DVD camcorder that is attached by firewire to the mac pro. Since FCPX still can't handle uncontrollable Devices, I first tried Premiere pro, that worked ok, but since the VHS had a bunch dropouts premiere would stop capturing every few minutes. So this last batch I used Fcp7 and had no problems with dropouts. Normally I use Quicktime X for just 1 tape. But with a large batch of tapes its easier to organize the clips better. Once the tapes are captured I bring them into FCPX and mark them up with chapter markers. I would stay in premiere or fcp7, but the render engine in fcpx is lightning fast. 2 hour SD video in fcpx to DVD use to take about 30 minutes, in fcp7 it would take between 3-4 hours. So even exporting to prores in fcpx first then burning in compressor is still twice as fast as fcp7 and fcp8.

I even tried the Compressor repair app with no luck.

We convert VHS tapes to DVD for clients several times weekly and have no problems using FCPX 10.1 or 10.1.1 in doing it. While the app will not allow you to batch the tapes or create EDL's, a simple import, quick titling and then export to DVD works perfectly direct from FCPX. If we need a better encode, we master the file and bring it into Compressor where we can select multi pass VBR and the bit rate, but generally for a standard VHS tape to DVD, the FCPX option works well enough.

Our conversion hardware is either a Grass Valley ADVC 300 Bi-directional converter for full size VHS tapes, a Sony GV-D800 for 8mm and Hi8/D8 tapes or a Panasonic HVX200A and Canon ZR200 for the miniDV tapes. In all cases, these devices are connected firewire to a MacPro. In the case of the Sony GV-D800 and the Canon ZR200, FCPX will control the tape transports for FF, REW, Play, PAUSE and STOP.

So perhaps you have another issue if you are not able to export SD Video to DVD. What happens when you try?

When I try it the error in fcpx is com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1

My set up which is very similar to yours worked great in 10.0.9. The tapes that gave me a problem yesterday I I just mastered to a prores file and brought them into compressor. That worked fine.

I was just really hoping the 10.1.1 update was going to fix the export issue since nothing else worked.

Any solutions for this topic?
As Habernigvideo tells us I also trying to get old VHS to DVD, and it have worked perfectly before but with upgrading to 10.1 and Maverick I have had problems now and then, but have solved it with changing DVD-burner or restarting of iMac. Now summervacation is over and a new bunch of VHS have been imported the same way as before with Canopus but now Share fails whatever I do, it goes to about 70% and then it fails.
I was happy when I notised that a upgrade was availible, but no change after upgrading.
Anyone have any ideas?

iMac mid 2011, 2,7 GHz IntelCore i5, 16 GN 1333 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB, OS X 10.9.4
FinalCutProX 10.1.3

Now I even tried to Share an old project that worked perfectly before, but it failed the same way as the other
