Does this Library, Event, and Project layout make sense?

I teach several filmmaking courses. Each course runs 10 weeks and each week the students do a new project.
In the old version of FCP, I would create 1 Event for the Course and then 1 Project for each week. Then at the end there would be 1 additional project, which would be a blooper reel consisting of bloopers from all 10 weeks.
In this new version, I imagine I will create a Library for the Course and then 1 Event (containing 1 Project) for each week's class.
First does that make sense?
Second, where do I put the blooper reel Project, since it will use footage from all ten weeks?

The Library structure gives you full liberty on how you organize your work. In fact in your case it wouldn't even have to change at all. You could create a master Library called "Courses" and inside this Library you could work exactly as you did before: create 1 Event for each Course and in each Course Event create 1 Project for each week. Then at the end you can add the additional blooper project to each Course Event.

Manuals are in fact updated.
help.apple.com/finalcutpro/mac/10.1/
help.apple.com/compressor/mac/4.1/
help.apple.com/motion/mac/5.1/
Projects can be keyworded now. So create a keyword collection for Projects. You can also create a Smart Search (Type = Project) to collect Projects in. You can also name an Event "Projects" and put them all in there.
Also, did anyone notice the Library Auto Backup feature?
And, last but not lease, you can duplicate a Library in the Finder, on the same drive or different drive, and there are no more database UUID conflicts. FCP X will open them all up with no issues.
Libraries can also be stored on network drives, too!

Didn't notice a "download pdf" option. I really dislike on-line manuals. Maybe some day Apple will distribute manuals in iBook format. Probably just wishful thinking.

Want a PDF? Easy peezy!
In FCP X, Help menu, open the help doc.
In the Action menu (gear icon) select Print.
In the Print window, bottom left, select Save As PDF.
Throw that in to iBooks.

I haven't had chance to download yet and test until I finish a current project I'm working on. I have seen a couple of the Ripple vids but will have a look at them going forward.
My previous backup strategy was to backup Events (and when I used them Projects) in a number of different places i.e Dropbox etc. I saw the auto backup feature but is that just for the new Library so it backs up everything? What if I want to backup just the Current.Event file like I used to how would you do that without 'Opening Package Contents' after every session? Reason is I don't want to be backing up the whole individual Libraries because they contain all the media inside.
Whilst typing I think I may of answered my own question would you keep all the media you use on a separate (scratch) disk and then just reference it from within a Library and then back that Library up as you please?

I believe the Library backup, which you can select where you want it to go, so can choose say a Dropbox folder for offsite backup, is the metadata only. Not the media associated with the Library. Phil Hodgetts talks about it
here
, if you scroll down the page a bit to 'Backups & Snapshots'.

Using Compressor to test printing help from the app I got a PDF consisting on one page.
What I want from Apple is a reference manual, not on-line help in printed form. I'd also prefer a native iBook to a pdf in iBooks. It's not the same thing. Yeah, I'll give some feedback to that effect. Not that it's done any good to this point.
