working on same project two different machines

I am working on a doc and I have identical FCP Events folders on two different RAID setups, one at my house & one at my producers. When I cut a piece last week at his house I copied the Project folder over to dropbox & then dropped it into my FCP Projects folder on my RAID at home.

When I opened the project up it said there were three missing files & there doesn't seem to be anyway to relink the media.

I have to be able to work in this manner so I'm looking for suggestions on my workflow so that I have current version on both RAIDS with all the files linked.

Thank you!

Do the two events really have the same clips in them? One thing you usually have to do is point the project to your own event when you get it to your place (click on 'modify event references' button). If the events really do have the same clips, then they should relink.

Of course, the real limitation to working this way is that it's tricky to keep the events in sync should either one of you add clips or add notes or other metadata to the event (not to mention make compound clips). A very crude way to do this is to copy the CurrentVersion.fcpevent back and forth, but you should keep sensible backups if you're going this route.

FCPX really should have an explicit way to share projects between multiple editors if it's going to make any inroads into larger-scale projects.

I didn't think about there being any changes to the referenced events, I don't think there is but I'll check. Any suggestion on how to keep this project current on two different RAID's? One idea I had was to run Deja Vu or Carbon Copy Cloner at the end of an edit & in theory I should have identical copies then that each would open on their own, right?
