key frame text color?

Are we supposed to be able to animate the color of text with keyframes, like making one word change form white to red? I can create key frames but nothing happens. Also when I open the video animation window (control v) for the text clip, I don't see any key frames displayed even tho the "next kf" function works... Thanks!

There is no keyframe for color in the Text section's Face settings.

But if the author of a title template publishes the color parameter, it shows up in the Title section, and can be keyframed.

Strange...then why under text>face>color there's a keyframe button/navigator?

Yes, it's very strange. Since the very first release, there have been title parameters that do not respond whatsoever to key framing – regardless of whether a ket frame button is present. For example, in many of the title templates something as basic as scale cannot be ket framed. One of these days I imagine that the developer team will get around to fixing this.

I don't see a keyframe diamond next to mine.
But, as I said before, if you publish the parameter in Motion, you can keyframe it.

If not, agree with BB that Motion is the best workaround.

I have a general purpose title that you can use to keyframe colour and tracking and other parameters that aren't normally keyframeable.

Off topic but do you guys ever notice that sometimes SHIFT / (play around play head) doesn't work and you get that Mac error sound? Can't figure it out...

Only if the Timeline is not the active pane (Cmd-2).
