I'm trying to export a file with original settings from X that is 40 minutes long. It will be going to a M-DOS FAT-32 formatted drive that has a 500GB capacity. I'm using an older version of fcpx as well. Can you think of any reason I would be getting this message? It will be a big file, but not that big. thx

Fat32 has, if memory serves correctly, a 4gb file size limit.

Good to know. I only formatted it that way because the drive is going to Poland and I figured the chances would be greater that they would be using PC instead of Mac. Not sure why I reached that conclusion. If I can't find out what they need, what is the safest bet when formatting a drive? thx

Format the drive ExFAT. That should remove the 4gb file size limit and still be in the "fat" format readable by most OS.
