Multicam Problems in Resolve was created by Scott Markowitz
We recently did a project that used Red Epic 4K footage.
The cam clips were brought into FCPX, and proxies were generated. Then 2nd Source audio was synced up.
Half the clips were multi cam, and were sunk using Multicam. The other half were sunk by making Sync Clips inside FCPX.
The edit went great, but we had a problem in Resolve 10- I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem:
The conformed clips in Resolve lined up at the proper cut points, but were all slipped a random number off inside their clip containers.
It turns out that Resolve as reading the start of the clips as being where the 2nd source audio started. So if the audio clip rolled 20 frames before the camera began to roll, then the Resolve slipped the shot 20 frames toward the head. If the camera rolled first, then Resolve slipped the shot towards the tail.
Has anyone else seen this happen? Is there a workaround?
