Outputting to DVD Studio Pro

I've exported a master file (mostly bc fcpx freezes halfway through my attempts to export lengthy projects with any other settings). Then imported it into compress and exported using the Disc Burning presets to make sure it would fit on a 4.7gb dvd. The movie length is just over 1 Hr. My final product play very pixelated in DVD Studio Pro's preview before I burn. Does anyone have any suggestions how I could fix this?

I have found that the DVD presets are pretty good. I usually lower the bit rate for playability but that's not your issue.

Assuming your project is HD, Frame Controls should automatically be activated. You might set the Resize Filter to Best. Mark a short, representative section in Preview and encode. Then check it in DVDSP to see whether there is an improvement.

If your source material is interlaced, as you know you can't reliably judge the quality on a computer screen. Burn a test disk and play it from your player out to TV to evaluate.

Thanks for your detailed response. I actually was able to solve the issue. I exported a disc image and it played fine in DVD Player. It was just the preview from within DVDSP making it pixelated. Thanks for your help.
