New User Account Not recognising RAID? was created by Seanchas
Hi since upgrading to Mavericks FCPX has been a nightmare... as discussed in a thread below I get dynamic_cast errors, but also the P tool does't work, insert modes don't work, timeline index is buggy.... basically very hard to edit!
When I make a new user account it seems ok, only problem is it doesn't recognise my SATA RAID... any idea how to sort this?
( I have deleted preferences, fixed permissions etc.)

Well to answer my own question I got FCPX to recognise the drive by changing the sharing&permissions to read/write for all users.... problem now is I think I need to change the permissions on every event/project to read/write for all users... is this safe/advisable... is there a simple way to do this?
Maybe I just just bite the bullet and reinstall everything??
Thanks,
Johnny

I'd take it all to an Apple retail store or authorized service center and have the hardware checked out.

In my madness I used the little cog in the info panel to change the r/w permissions on all files in the event and project folders and can now use fcpx from a second account which doesn't have all the issues of my main account... so far so good but perhaps someone who knows more than me could warn me if I'm heading for disaster!!!
