Multiple remove effects

I have a vignette on every single clip in a project and can't seem to find an obvious way to remove it.
I tried selecting all the clips and then deselecting / deleting the effect in the inspector but no joy.
Am I missing something blindingly obvious?

Select all the clips. Go to the inspector. Select the name Vignette under Effects in the inspector. Press delete.

I figured as such and even tried it again in response to your post. No luck. When I select a single clip after having deleted it, the vignette is still there. When I then go back and select multiple clips, the vignette is gone. The vignette is still present in the content itself.

Do you have background rendering switched on? Switch it off and trash your render files.

Is the best way to do this: Quit FCPX dand simply delete the "render files" folder in both the project and the event? And should I emptt trash?

Just the project render files. You can actually do this from inside the application. If you select the project in the library the function to delete the files will appear in the File menu. Delete all, used and unused.

I still have this issue where I cant see vignette if I select all but can see it if I select just one clip.
Might duplicate project and try that...

This did not work either. I even tried to select all clips with "video" as a role

Hopefully this is one of the oversights that gets addressed when the new version comes out next month.

It definitely needs improvement, but the procedure I described works for me. I can select multiple clips, in the inspector see the effect, select and delete it. There may be complications with multiple effects that prevent this.
