Little app: keywordExtractor

It started here in Germany about a week ago: some people were asking whether you could export keywords and the related clips and TCs from an Event.

I made a little free basic app which allows to do that using XML.
There is not much to explain as that app is really simple. Create XML, open with keywordExtractor, save the tab text file.
It can be used with any text editor but it makes more sense to open it with a spreadsheet application.

Thanks for sharing Andreas. Just tested and got this message: «  Unknown attribute: tcFormat. (-1728) »
Is this something related to my framerate, 25fps ?

Dawar,

It can't be related to the used timecode rate.
Normally each clip has a "tcFormat" attribute: DF or NDF.
May be that there are things with compound clips I'm not aware of.

You can send me the XML and I'll have a look at it.

I found the reason.

If there are audio only clips without timecode then there will no DF or NDF entry and therefore no tcFormat.

I will upload a fixed version later today.

I've uploaded a new installer.
www.spherico.com/filmtools/keywordExtrac...keywordExtractor.dmg

It fixes your issues (I've tested you XML) and additionally allows to drag a fcpxml directly to the app icon for easier handling.

I made the handling even easier.

In the prefs you can check "Auto-Save and quit". This option checked will save the resulting text in the directory of the source file using the same name but with ".txt" extension.
This together with the drag'n drop option makes it really easy.
