Multiple items and transition

Very basic question...
I have an item on main storyline. Also have additional items above storyline, which all together making composition. Now what I want is to make transition from that final composition to next item in main storyline. One way I found is to create compound clip, then place it on main storyline and then make transition. Question whether there is another ways to make transition in case of multiple elements?

Creating a compound clip and applying the transition to the cc is the easiest way for making a transition from a composition to a clip on the primary storyline. You have found the correct solution.
