Hi,
I would like to but FCP 6 which comes as part of Apple Final Cut Studio 2. I have the following computer specs:
MacBook Pro - 13-inch, Late 2011
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR 3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
Would it be possible to run FCP 6 with this system, do I need anything else?
Thanks,
Simon

You can't run the installer for FCS in Lion because they nixed the ability to run PPC apps and FCP Classic uses a PPC installer for some asinine reason. So wipe your drive and install 10.6.8 and install Final Cut Studio. Now "upgrade" that to Lion (I don't personally consider Lion to be much of an upgrade, Mountain Lion is better).

You can with Final Cut Studio 3 (FCP 7). Yep, 6 is quite old...

FWIW, I also have FCP 6.06 as part of FCS2 running on an old G5 edit bay. The DVD Studio Pro app that comes with it is actually a universal binary app. It does not include an installer that will run on Intel Mac's, however I was able to successfully install DVD Studio Pro 4 on my Intel Mac Pro 12 core running the Mavericks OS using the Shareware program "Pacifist". It installed all the templates perfectly and also my registration information and I have tested it by authoring several DVD's with various parameters.
So, although FCP 6 won't run or install on the new Mac's, DVD Studio Pro from the FCS2 Bundle will.
