Black channel turning red and keyframes always easing/curved?

I've just installed FCP X on a Mac Mini for a client's edit bay. (2GHz i7 8 gig ram running OS 10.9)
Anytime I try to make a keyframe to do a move on the footage or stills the black/shadows in the image turns bright red. After render or export, the media looks ok though. Also my simple moves all have ease effects and curve the moves even though I have it set to linear. Very frustrating as my project requires lots of "ken burns-ing" but not with the typical easing points.

I have already tried deleting prefs and then a complete uninstall and reinstall based on Apple's instructions. Still the same issues. Thanks for any thoughts you folks may have.

Can you post screen shots of what you're seeing? You also need to give complete specs of your media and your project properties.

The footage is ProRes 422 29.97p. Project is 1080 29.97p.
I can not show any stills as this is sensitive footage for a TV spot.
I'll try to recreate it when I'm not under the gun and post it up.
Thanks for the help.

This is my problem right here. I can't believe Apple hasn't stopped everything to fix this. It's flat out unacceptable.

This ease-in/ease-out keyframing issue has been discussed over and over again, we all hope it will get fixed in the coming update. Keyframing in FCPX works relatively well overall, but for this specific case it is much better to do your keyframing in Motion. The workaround described in the video just takes too much time.

I cannot see any blacks turning red in your video but I do know the problem. It is typical to Mavericks and it happens mostly on low-level systems with integrated graphics cards.

I have seen these red flashes on a Mini with Mavericks as well and I have sent feedback to Apple, they replied that they are aware of the problem. I suggest you post feedback as well.

Well this is NOT my video just an example of the same ease problem.
I have not had that problem on my personal laptop and iMac only on this client's Mini. They are purchasing an iMac to replace this mini thankfully, until the PROs are available.

I think having to go through Motion to do a simple 2 keyframe move is ridiculous.
Thanks for the reply.
