Multi cam - manual import was created by Reflex Films
i have had some success with multicam in the past
i am working with a 6 camera shoot of a 6 minute event- 2 of which were go pros inside housings (bad audio for sync) and one had a bad buzz off the internal mic - 1 camera even had no audio at all (with multiple stop starts just to keep me on my toes) Timecode sync didnt happen as cameras came from different operators in a hurry on the day.
I tried to multicam these shots but got a random spread- i think i am asking too much of the apple magic. totally fair.
i have manually arranged the shots in a standard timeline using visual and audio cues to get my 6 cameras pretty much synced in time. Its currently a 6 shot stack of w and q edits
is there a way i can manually populate these into a multicam clip (copy and paste?) so i can take advantage of the multicam viewer / editor for some "live switching " magic ?
i tried copying and pasting into a dummy multicam clip - this just spreads them all out in one timeline with no sync.
Any multicam gurus out there with some tricks for me ?

i think i worked it out!
i set up a multicam clip with one dummy clip (i then deleted the clip)
i then manually added 5 more angles using the little hidden triangle on the lowest angle
and then copy and pasted each of my "layers" at the correct time to maintain sync - and it looks like i now have multicam editor functionality on 6 cameras - not too bad for a quick half hour of work.
yes- i'm happy!

One thing that can help sometimes is to make sure that the time and date are properly set on all the cameras. This way you'll at least know a little bit about what order they are in and that makes a huge difference when there is no audio being recorded.
Ugh, this just reminded me that the time just went back an hour and now I have to set that on all my cameras...

Next time you might try converting your 'layers' tracks (the ones with the stop starts) into a Compound Clip' before adding them to the multicam clip… just so their offsets stay put. (?)
