Final Cut Pro X exporting issues and quitting was created by cubit
Hello everyone
I'm new to the forum.
I'm hoping someone can help me.
I'm a music producer by trade, but (like most) I have to do a lot of video editing for my labels releases etc, so have been learning about FCPX over the last year.
Coming from an audio background there's much I really love about FCPX. It's very easy and quick to get some stunning looking footage and I find the editing really easy too. However all of this creativity is taken away by what seems to be a very buggy program.
I have two main issues:
1) FCPX seems to quit randomly at any given time. Usually doing the simplest thing like moving or adjusting a clip.
2) I like many others posting on this forum seem to have a regular issue with exporting / sharing. With me, FCPX simply quits ...
I would class myself as an advanced user. I have been using macs for 20 years or so. I'm familiar with digging deep into the operating system via terminal etc. Though I tend not to do this much at all nowadays. With FCPX I've read most of the threads on the various forums about the issues I'm having with the software. I have Digital Rebellion, I have Event Manager, I clear the preferences, I turn off background rendering. I have tried every concievable thing ... I use a Macbook Pro (mid2011), I'm on 10.8.5, 10.0.9 of FCP, I have 16 gig of ram. I have 42% of my host drive free, I work with a FW800 2tb extrenal drive (I've had no issues with the drive at all), I run diagnostics dailly, so I think I'm doing everything I should be doing.
My only work around the exporting / sharing issue is to check that I can share after each frame I add or edit. When hitting share quits the program my only option is to create a new project and copy and paste the clips from my exisitng project to the new project.
I am using a lot of the Pixel Film Studios plugins. Is anyone on this forum having issues with these plug ins ? I find them really creative and give a great look to my edits.
I have just set up a 2nd user account on my mac and the export function seems to be working on that which makes me think there's an issues with the Pixel plugins …. ?
Am I the only one having these issues ? I would really appreciate some feedback from anyone on here.
Many thanks in advance.
Robert

Hello again
Just to let everyone know I have isolated the issue. It's Pixel Film Studios pro Bokeh plugins that are preventing FCPX to share a file. With those installed FCPX just quits. Without them installed everything works.
I've also set up a user account to run FCPX from there and I get the same issues. All fine without the Bokeh plugins - issues with ….
Now my question is …. is anyone else using the Pro Bokeh plugins AND is still able to render / share ?
Many thanks
