This isn't spam, this little thing saved me yesterday... ;-)

I got a bunch of Avid .mxf files for a pretty big studio film, and was banging my head against the wall trying to convert them for X. Premiere opened them, but X wouldn't. After looking at all sorts of expensive plug-ins, and cheap apps that failed miserably, i found this:

Maybe everyone knows of this already, but it's really nice little app and will convert MXF to pretty much anything you can imagine. in my case video to ProRes422, and sync audio to aiff. Then the X clip synching magic (6 mic's on each take) and good to go. It was a little unnerving at first, as I got a kernel panic the first run. But... after a reboot, it easily (and quickly!) covered about 20GB of files perfectly. No more crashes or issues at all. $30 , supports 10.9

Can't sleep? Try this: fcpxpert.net ;-)
