Let's say I have a clip of green screen footage. I drag and drop the keyer filter on and I get this (before making any other adjustments):
But if I undo or delete the key and drag it again to the same clip with the playhead parked in the same position as before, I can get this (also before making any further adjustments):
So why the different results? It seems completely random each and every time. I have noticed this on any clip I've ever applied the filter to.
Also, I notice that if the playhead is parked in the middle of the clip when I drop the keyer on and I use the REFINE KEY to clean up the matte at that point, the matte will be uncleaned and slowly fade to the cleaned up version where the playhead was when I dropped my key. Does this mean I need to always be at frame #1 of a clip when I drop the keyer on it and make initial adjustments? (FCPX cannot fully key this scene, BTW. Too much shadow between the two. Gonna have to use After Effects).
