QMASTER and COMPRESSOR issues in Mavericks was created by dgwvideo
Issues noticed since Mavericks upgrade:
The Qmaster Preference pane will not open and gives an error "Could not load Apple Qmaster Preference Pane".
This is documented on a few other forums but no answer so far solves the issue. The apple Qadministrator app still opens and runs.
In FCPX, I am unable to add a custom Compressor 4.07 destination. I can choose a preset compressor setting, but any that I have created in Compressor as a custom setting do not appear. A custom folder appears but it indicates it has 0 settings in it, when in fact it shows 5 custom settings within Compressor.

Can't reproduce the Compressor settings problem. I added a setting. Closed Compressir. Added a destination in FCP. Selected Compressor settings and saw the custom settings. This is using the current versions of FCP and Compressor.

Thanks for testing, Tom, but I am still having issues. All latest versions. I did get the custom folder to appear on two occasions within fcpx, and was able to add a destination, but now it once again shows 0 settings and will not display any custom settings. In compressor, they are all there.
I trashed fcpx prefs, repaired compressor, rebooted numerous times, repaired permissions...nothing helps.
I tried creating a group in compressor and placing the custom presets within the group and one time it showed up in fcpx. Now, for the last 10 attempts, the fcpx share menu shows the apple presets and one custom folder with nothing in it. Any other suggestions appreciated.

I run into compressor problems all the time, running a distributed network, in OS 10.8 + 10.9. My fix, which apple showed me,
In the Finder window hold down the option key and open library under the Go menu, From there navigate to Application Support>Apple Q master and trash all the files in that folder. You will have to start compressor twice to get qmaster sharing running again.

Thanks for the help. I was in the process of removing Compressor according to the Apple knowledge base article and I did in fact delete the compressor and apple qmaster folders, along with the .plist files in preferences. I dropped a backup copy of Compressor from an offline disk into applications and re-setup my qmaster clusters and re-created new custom presets. Now all is working, and from the FCPX share menu I can add the custom settings.
I did try to re-download Compressor thru the app store, but it kept showing up as already installed (after trashing all the relevant files and rebooting), so not sure why that is, but it is working as re-installed as described above.
