Premiere maintains the layout that professionals have been using since first beginning to edit on home computers, and one could feasibly switch from Final Cut 7 to Premiere CS6 with minimal issues.
...So to judge a new way of doing things as being worthy, it needs to be like the old way?
I can laugh this one off.

This company isn't that big of a deal either. They don't pay well and they would actually be better off with FCPX since their structure depends on grants to get their work done. So now instead of paying a one time fee, they are going to pay monthly with grant money provided by tax payers and donors.
EDIT: Just watched their videos... That's how they tested the programs?
I don't even care anymore, I just hate the fact that I feel like I can't go work anywhere else because everyone hates Apple and FCPX so much for some reason, I just don't get it. I've spent the whole summer working my butt off with FCPX and I feel very confident that I am almost at the level where I've mastered everything. But when there's something I don't know I come to this forum and someone replies almost instantly. And the best thing about that is everyone here is professional with the way they speak and talk to each other. Man, I don't know what kind of forums I'd be in if I was using Premier.

I mean Premiere CS6 is to me what FCP8 should a been, but it still is a curse to work with compared to FCP X. I only use it when I'm absolutely forced to.

Interesting isn't it.
Anyway, the "next generation" is probably going to learn to cut on this, and apps like Pr and MC are going to seem like trying to run an OS via the terminal. FCPX, with it's very friendly interface, but really powerful features underneath is, like it or not, the NLE of the future. I can think of a couple companies that probably don't like it.
And, related to the OP, Notice how the Premiere version of the cut didn't properly scale the baby movie to the sequence aspect ratio? Cuz, you know, you have to be a "pro" to do that... lol

I have been playing around with iMovie X as well. Never thought I would ever do this
Very interesting indeed.

I MUCH prefer both FCP7 and FCPX to Adobe Premiere but even Apple fanboys upset me when they go to great lengths to defend any perceived flaw in their beloved Final Cut Pro.
Totally agree. X has plenty of flaws, no show stoppers for me, but they exist. Anyone who says otherwise shouldn't be taken seriously IMO...

OTOH a totally biased forum comment can be set right by other people on the forum. These people just put absolute nonsense on the internet and they don't allow other people to react publicly. That's the worst kind of fanboyism.

FCPX was a big change and people hate change, but man, it's been over two years and they still haven't gotten over it.
Earlier today I was reading about the new iMovie and seeing some drastic changes that might be applied to FCPX, like how there isn't even a main storyline, everything is just floating. This got me thinking about how Apple works and how they gradually make really dramatic changes, even though FCPX was a dramatic change, what if version one was just the tip of the iceberg and there's even more dramatic change coming? What if this next version is the second stage of the grand rewriting of the software?
I don't know, I'm just getting impatient for the update and feel like one of the easiest ways to get people interested in it again is to do something really major.
It's still October isn't it? This is going to be a long two months.

This is how iMove has always been, there is only one main storyline, and *everything* not in it is connected. Transitions can only be applied to the "main" clips. There may or may not be some drastic changes to X, but I don't think the iMove timeline is one of them. Having said that... the new iMovie is pretty cool...

Multiple layers of native 1080p30 MPEG4 or H.264 with retiming and other effects, transitions and titles on top and multiple audio lanes play realtime without any hiccups on the most basic Mini with 2 GB RAM. Baffling.
