Let's Flood this Slanted Creative Cow Survey with FCP X Love!

So Creative Cow sent out an email with this "survey" to their readers/users and while it starts out innocent enough by the end it is very Adobe CC slanted. I need as many editors as possible to follow this link and show them there are a lot of editors out there that love FCP X. It's not a long survey:

I think it was an Adobe product survey. Not sure why the Cow is sending it out. Oh... Yeah they love Adobe.

I'm pretty certain Adobe paid them to do this. I just wanted to give them a response they weren't expecting when a bunch of people vote up FCP X.

I have had a look at the Cow's Newsletter pages and I cannot seem to find any info about this "survey" over there. Can anyone provide me a link to where this is mentioned on the Cow's website? If they are really submitting a spam survey in their name I'll give them hell

Thank you. I see, this is a Sponsor News e-mail. At least they have the decency to say that the survey is from a sponsor. OTOH they should be more clear about the fact that this is just a publicity stunt. But obviously you cannot bite the hand that feeds you... The Cow is not the same anymore.

This survey seems to be cookie-based so you can just delete your cookies or use another browser and take it again. I recommend that everyone here take the survey at least 57 times each just to be sure.

If I could make a case for a brief call to humility.

First, I think this is an old survey. I know I did at least two adobe centric NLE surveys last year. I answered an Avid centric one also. I wouldn't be so quick to judge and say that the Cow loves Adobe and not Apple. ADOBE IS A LARGE ADVERTISER at the Cow, but if you look at the forum posts "ranking" for activity, i.e. the forum drop down menu, you'll see that 4 of those products are Apple.

Adobe makes very valuable software. Sure we can "vote for our team" in Apple, but I don't think we should be so quick to throw Adobe, and the Creative Cow under the bus. They are part of "our" industry. There doesn't need to be an "us" and "them".

The Creative Cow can sometimes feel like the Lion's Den as there are folks with strong opinions (and I sometimes have to work up my courage to visit) but there are many of the same kind folks who are appreciative of help there as well as here at fcp.co. It may FEEL like FCP X editors are not respected, but I think the above forum activity list shows otherwise (granted one of those is the Lion's Den itself in the debate forum). I personally think that there are a few very vocal folks that still have many open wounds from what Apple did with FCPX. But it is just a few. In fact right now on the Cow, unashamed FCP X editor Ben Consoli has an article up on the home page.

I believe Adobe is seeking a good understanding of what Creative Cow folks are thinking about NLEs, and they didn't want to hamper results by putting their logo on it. Nothing more. As a fellow marketing guy who commissions surveys like this, I would be violating my conscience if I skewed the results.

I think we should show Adobe, and Creative Cow, the same respect we would show Apple, the Final Cut Team and our fellow fcp.co members.

Agreed. The best thing we, as FCPX users can do, is just use it. Pr and MC are perfectly good NLE's, and crapping on them is no different than others crapping on X. Smacks of desperation, no matter where it's coming from...
