Importing .MXF files

Importing .MXF files was created by Redifer
I have downloaded a lot of MXF files (which shows up as Apple XDCAM) that I am supposed to edit. They are all different sizes (645 MB, 2GB etc etc etc) but each one only plays for 30 seconds no matter what. QuickTime thinks the clips are all 30 seconds and so does FCPX. The downloads completed. All the clips are different sizes.
How fix? Apparently they play just fine and dandy on a PC. Macs can't do this?

Post a screen shot of the movie inspector in the QuickTime player.
What kind of drive is this media on? How is it formatted?

Here is the screen grab:
I downloaded these clips from a storage server that users upload to. So the files live on my hard drive which is HFS+ or Mac OS Journaled or whatever they call the standard Mac formatting these days (NOT case sensitive).
Note that in the Quicktime Player inspector it says the data size is 130.38 MB. The REAL size of this file is 645.4 MB as seen below:
So for whatever reason, my computer only wants to see the first 130 MB of the file.
10.6.8

Alright so it turns out MXF files confuse the poor Mac OS unless they are wrapped properly ie imported directly from the camera. The person who uploaded the files just uploaded the MXF itself instead of the directory that it was in. So I bought something called Pavtube MXF fixer or something like that for 29 fun-filled dollars and that converted them for me. I did not like having to buy something for a fault that apparently only affects Mac OS X, but what ya gonna do in these situations?
