Hi,
is there anyway to keep the "match color" view up for manual color correction?

You know, I'd like to chime in and also ask what people are doing to replicate a kind of "still store" option when coloring. Agreed that matching shot to shot can be a bit of a pain some time. I seem to recall there is a plug-in? Any FCPX color whiz people have a suggestion?

This is nice. But still, I'd like to use built-in FCPX color corrector, I really like it.

There isn't a seperate timeline viewer, but there is a work around. If you take your color corrected clip and create a compound clip it will put it in your events. You can then use the event viewer which can be viewed side by side with a clip on your timeline. You can also view the Waveforms etc. while doing this.

I actually did that, but its kinda cumbersome and gets messy if you don't clean-up after yourself.
Seems like such a trivial and logical thing to implement though.

I do something similar. It's not ideal but it's a workaround.
I export still frames and import them into an event titled "Still Store". Then I view them in the event viewer as a comparison. It's a step or so extra from the compound clips but it's easy to manage/clean up. I've never tested, but I can imagine it's probably easier on the system too.

I agree. I have come to absolutely LOVE the color board and (almost) HATE color WHEELS.
Unfortunately the only other alternative that I know of would be "Hawaiki Color" that's included with FXFactory. Has a great split-screen function (better than HyColour IMHO), but... dreaded wheels.
I've told Apple through various channels that this is something that is needed, along with separate and multiple scopes. Not attched to the viewer window. That drives me nuts. And I can only encourage everyone to use the feedback page to do the same. Yes, they read them and take them seriously (if in numbers)!
